Guest Post - SS15: Here’s How To Wear It by Natasha Poliszczuk

SS15 is just around the corner, so who better than a fashion editor absorbed in the world of clothes, shoes and handbags 24/7 to give us the lowdown on what we should be wearing for the season. Here Natasha Poliszczuk, the co-editor of Wear & Where and Assistant Editor at GLAMOUR sharing her top trend tips for SS15.

Natasha Poliszczuk: I know: it’s February. It’s freezing. But the sartorial forecast for Spring is an instant mood boost – these are looks to fall in love with. Start planning your new season wardrobe right now. Yes, this minute. Go, go, go…

Go wide

If there is one trend into which you dip a super-stylish toe this season, make it this one. I’m not saying the skinny jean is dead (perish the thought), but Kate Moss has been spotted rocking the flare. This time ‘round, flares are slick, flattering and easy to wear. Make sure yours are high waisted and have a structured wide leg – wear them with block heels and the leg-lengthening effect is nigh-on magical. Keep your top half neat. The IDA Mrs Thatcher silk blouse tucked in with a narrow belt is the perfect partner. The very thought of this outfit is so pleasing I am itching to wear it right now. (If you’re feeling chilly, throw on a little jacket or a fine knit.)

Keep swinging

Note: uber-cool Phoebe Philo has been spotted wearing cropped flares. I have a sneaky feeling these Ankle Swingers might just prove to be the ultimate SS15 uniform. Team with a tailored top half (embrace double denim should you desire– Marc Jacobs showed it at his final show for Vuitton) and chunky sandals. When the sun finally deigns to shine, channel your inner California girl and go for a vintage wash, floaty white blouse and metallic sandals (tousled beach hair optional – try Bumble & Bumble surf hair spray).

Back to (art) school

Chanel, Celine, Prada... Glorious swirls of painterly colour were big news on the catwalk. Look for bright pops of colour, graphic and geometric prints – both are instantly cheering and perfect partners for denim.

Floral v Tribal

On the one side, bold blooms (leave your ditsy little florals at home); on the other, a very modern take on the tribal trend – decisions, decisions… Look for African-inspired embellishment to liven up your double denim. I love the 70s inspired florals – super-flattering – and who can resist a plant print with a sense of humor?

The only way is…monochrome

Pretty much every designer showed some variation on the white shirt for SS15. Which is good news for us. Not only is there a crisp white shirt to suit all tastes, but getting dressed just got a whole lot easier. Monochrome is so chic, so simple – and works for day and evening. Joy.
