Princes Trust

Jean Queen Donna Ida Thornton is an ambassador for Women Supporting Women which is a passionate group who are committed to changing the lives of young women at The Prince’s Trust, helping them gain the skills needed to live, learn and earn. The mission of Women Supporting Women is simple: to provide the right help to nurture, empower and inspire young women to build their own futures through employment, self-employment, education or training.

For International Women’s Day, Donna created an exclusive ’The Boss’ T Shirt in aid of The Prince’s Trust for their #ChangeAGirlsLife Campaign. The T Shirt was designed to help women feel confident and happy in their own skin with profits going straight to The Prince’s Trust. In October, Donna will be hosting a Brilliant Breakfast to raise funds and awareness for The Prince’s Trust.

Jeans for Genes

As a patron for Jeans for Genes in 2011, Donna recruited 130 women including Donna Air to take part in a 5k run which raised in excess of 50,000 for the charity. https://www.donnaida.com/blogs/editorial/jeans-for-genes

The following year she extended this to a whole summer of sport with a 5k run, a 23 mile trek from Lewes to Eastbourne and 65 mile bike ride from London to Brighton. https://www.donnaida.com/blogs/editorial/jeans-for-genes

An early advocate of sustainability, Donna introduced the concept of the Denim Drive in aid of Jeans for Genes. Shoppers were encouraged to donate their unwanted jeans in return for a voucher. The jeans we re-styled and sold with 50% of the proceeds going to Jeans for Genes, the charity supporting children with genetic disorders.
