I can officially leave my flat without a winter coat and I'm embracing every moment of the suddenly sunny weather! Despite the tempting summery days however my life is still completely chaotic! My school is just wrapping up and I've suddenly been plagued with countless end of the year essays and sketchbooks to complete (all of which are only partially finished given my procrastinating nature). I'm trying my best to keep everything organised but with our final exhibit looming just around the corner its hard not to focus on the stressful aspects. What I'm trying to remind myself of are the beach days and summer holidays only two weeks away, and the wonderful summer clothing I'll finally get to wear!
These jeans would fit right into that summery category. Although I was slightly apprehensive when I saw the rich red hue of these J Brand 811 Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans (due only to my suddenly blank mind on what to pair with the bright shade) I tried them on and fell in love. J Brand is one of my favourite lines of denim and it's mostly due to their unmatched fit and comfort and this pair was no exception. They fit true to size, hugging my legs perfectly with no discomfort at the waist. With a 29 inch inseam they were also slightly cropped, hitting just at my ankles, allowing them to work great with both heels and flats. The denim itself was incredibly soft and stretchy, I truly didn't want to take them off! They have no detailing on the pockets or elsewhere, which is a feature I think is perfect for these already bold trousers.
Although I was originally a bit scared of the standout shade I quickly realised that they work with white, black, grey, patterned and even coloured tops if you're feeling particularly brave. I paired them here with a striped sweater from H&M and my favourite wedge sandals, which is a look that I think would be great for an afternoon shopping or getting lunch with friends. Although this definitely is a "day look" I think these jeans would be perfectly adaptable for night time as well, with a nice top and pumps you'd be ready to go out!
Coloured denim has been popping up everywhere this spring and this addition from J Brand is one of my favourites. These jeans have been seen on Kim and Khloe Kardashian (Kim in the royal blue shade, Khloe in the red) and are also available in a yellow and fuchsia hue. I have no complaints with these jeans, and am currently planning to get myself a pair for the summer months ahead!
