Earlier this month, America based brand Joie presented their new AW14 fashion range in New York and we were so excited to get a sneak preview of their new collection of signature comfortable cuts adding a new feel of freshness with chic and feminine pieces. Joie prides itself on high quality comfort and luxury pieces inspired by the carefree and heavenly lifestyle of LA. Owner Serge Azria has built up the brand, offering collections for the modern travelling women, desiring styles of casual comfort and luxurious materials with a sophisticated edge.
The AW14 collection shows a classic muted colour palette of whites, greys and navys contrasted with the fun and bright pop of electric reds and blues. The takeover of flippy, a line and mini skirts cement the feminine and flirty inspirations for this collection while ensuring classic elegance by teaming them with loose blouses and knits.
Oversized, structured and button detailed jackets were a constant feature in the collection inspired by vintage 60s designs. This style embodies old school glamour and timeless elegance from the structured slightly masculine fit providing a contrast to the feminine separates. Cropped capes also featured adding a flattering and unique fit for your AW14 wardrobe with a pop of pillar box red.
Simple, chic, knitted jumpers were a recurring garment piece by Joie, with cable knit textures and thick high polo necks creating a warm and comfortable feel for the collection. These sumptuous, relaxed pieces reference a traditional English country-side weekend look.
Tartan is set to stay as a huge trend for AW14, with Joie incorporating this into skirts and dresses in feminine floaty fabrics adding to the traditional rustic country feel, with the print providing a charming and elegant touch while maintaining high fashion chic.
The current SS14 Joie collection has delicate, beautiful silk blouses inspired by vintage prints and soft separates to complete the look.
