Sometimes, albeit not that often, customers ask us for a mid rise. With that in mind, Genevieve walked into my mind, fully formed. I always think about balance, and for me if I want to wear a mid rise shape I will then want more volume in the leg of the jean.
Thus the Genevieve was born, featuring a mid but still exceptionally comfortable rise, focusing on the curved waistband that we are known for. Curved is key, as it sits slightly lower at the front, and slightly higher at the back, following the curves of the body and the natural rise of the bottom (and if it isn’t rising as much as you would like, the curved waistband gives the illusion of just that, a lovely gentle curve to the bottom, your peachy derrière).
With a nod to the western styling that DONNA IDA is known for, the rear pockets feature elegant detail stitching that add just enough to the style to add interest, without being so loud that it takes away from your outfit.
I always think like to think of jeans as a foundation garment, almost like underwear, working hard for you to make to feel happy and secure in your outfit, rather than you having to work hard to wear the jeans. I always keep this in mind when designing and the leg shape of Genevieve is quite important, as what I love about it is it is fitted on the bottom and then quite relaxed through the thigh, allowing the leg shape to hang beautifully and swish as you walk, creating a very elegant look. The mid rise curved waistband creates a fantastic bottom shape and I know you will be delighted with the look and confidence that the Genevieve gives you.
