Constance reviews our J Brand 811 Pale Pink for Denimology

Connie_PalePink

Hello everyone, I'm Constance, the newest reviewer here on Denimology. I am a freelance fashion photographer out and about in London. Because I am always on the go I tend to live in jeans for a good percentage of my time, but am never one to sacrifice fashion for comfort, so being able to try on all the new styles from the best denim brands around seems like a dream come true for me!

The first jeans I am reviewing are these beautiful pink 811 skinnies from J Brand. I have always been a fan of J Brand and so was not surprised that these jeans fit beautifully on both the hips and the legs, whilst being incredibly flattering on the behind. Getting a pair of jeans which fits me on both the hips and on the leg has always been quite a struggle but J Brand seem to understand that women have different waist to hip ratios as well as accommodating different leg shapes. The fabric mix of 98% cotton and 2% lycra means these are tight fitting but remain very comfortable and easy to wear. I could quite happily wear these all day and there would be no issues with the waistband cutting into my sides despite their tight fit. They are also quite a thin fabric meaning they are perfect for the warmer days London is just starting to experience. For reference regarding fit - these are a 26 which is my usual so they do run true to size.

The colour was something I was a little unsure about at first, pink is definitely not a colour I have tried in a pair of jeans before, but due to the subtle 'rose' tone they have actually converted me somewhat to coloured denim trend. This season there has been a lot of pale and pastel tones about and so these are bang on trend and are actually very easy to integrate into a pretty summer wardrobe. For instance mixing this tone with cream lace and white silks creates a delicate and pretty colour palette which looks perfect with a straw hat for the quintessential English rose style. I have paired these with a lace cropped top and a denim vest just to toughen up a look a little.

The only negative points to mention would be that these will dirty easily due to the pale colour, but I guess anyone who wears pale coloured or white jeans will be very aware of this. And one last thing to note is that any underwear other than nude or white will show through these, so choose your underwear carefully when wearing these jeans!
