I truly believe this is our best sale ever at Donna Ida. It broke my heart when we were setting up sale as I’m a stylist and visual merchandiser with a serious case of OCD and shops never look as good during this period. However, there are so many amazing pieces in the sale that I’m going give you some insider knowledge on what to look out for and why.
Buying jeans in sale is smart shopping so I would be looking for a style that will take you through to SS12. Every summer I live in boyfriend jeans or a relaxed fit style so look out for the Current/Elliott Roller it really is my go-to jean. Hudson is a favourite amongst the Donna Ida girls and there are a number to choose from in many different styles and washes; I particularly like the Hudson Signature Bootcut in Middleton.
Why not stock up on shorts while they’re in sale, I’m a big fan of Siwy shorts and tend to get a new pair each summer. There are plenty in our sale and in some great washes. I also love the Goldsign Chitney short as they’re a little longer and you won’t feel too exposed in them.
Brands to look out for in sale are Smythe, Elizabeth and James and By Malene Birger. They are my three favourite brands at the moment but can be expensive so we’d be silly not to get them while they’re half price. I absolutely love the Smythe Boucle Blazer and think it is a great staple piece. A blouse that I have lived in this season and will continue to for the next few seasons is the By Malene Birger Brisa blouse The Light Ink colour will look fabulous with white jeans in summer and the Eggshell can be worn with denim, black or coloured jeans. If you haven’t already got a classic trench coat the Elizabeth & James Bogart trench is the perfect investment piece. Or you could stock up on basic tees from Splendid, their cotton is amazing and great for layering.
