IDA TV - How to find Jeans for a Boyish Figure

The Shape

Boyish shapes tend to have slim silhouettes and can usually wear most styles of jean. However, the perfect pair will give the illusion of a more defined shape and create curves in all the right places.

How To Wear It

Lucky boyish types look good in most styles of denim, but a low rise skinny jean will provide more shape and definition than most other fits. As a boyish body shape, you can get away with detailing such as zips and hardware; adding detail to the seat, like back pockets, is particularly good for you as it will add shape to your bottom. Slouchy chino-like styles also work well, adding curves to the thighs and hips.

BOYISH SHAPED CELEBRITIES: Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley

Video Transcript; "If you have a boyish figure, you probably have a less defined waist, slim-ish hips, and a smaller, flattish bottom, so you probably want to look for something that gives you a little more shape. Skinnies look great on a boyish frame, as they show off your lovely slim figure, and remember you can have a bit of fun with details such as zips and pockets. A slouchy style such as a skinny chino or a boyfriend will also look fantastic, giving the illusion of more shape through the thigh and leg. For a relaxed look brands like Current/Elliott and Hudson are great, and for classic skinnies you can't go wrong with J Brand, MIH Jeans, Citizens of Humanity, and Paige Denim. If you have a boyish figure, you're lucky enough to wear almost any style. Probably a mid-to-low rise would look best and look for a back pocket detail like this jean here to give a little bit more shape."
