Donna Ida Thornton is always on the move, so we were delighted when she was invited to be part of an exhibition of London’s most stylish cyclists…and here are the amazing results!
Photographed by top photographer Horst A. Friedrichs for the City of London on the streets of Belgravia right next to the Donna Ida boutique on Elizabeth Street, Donna shows how she cycles in style!
Donna wears her favourite Paige Premium Verdugo Leggings, Simeon Farrar Tee and Designers Remix jacket, finished off with super high Camilla Skovgaard heels and oversize Victoria Beckham Aviator shades.
The new exhibition is called City Cycle Style and features a collection of 40 of the Capital’s most stylish cyclists, including Mayor of London Boris Johnson and designer Paul Smith on their rides of choice, from vintage bikes, to fixed gear and Pashley rides. “From fashionistas to financiers, an increasing number of Londoners are taking to the saddle,” explained Friedrichs. “The bicycle is now being seen as a reflection of your own personality and fashion choices rather than a simple way to get around. I hope the exhibition will show London exactly how you can ride in style and encourage more people to start cycling.”
The launch party for the exhibition was held at The Royal Exchange on 27th September and was hosted by Rt Hon The Lord Mayor Alderman Michael Bear. The event included the auctioning of the famous Boris Bike…as demonstrated by Donna Ida Thornton…to raise money for charity. Donna is wearing J Brand jeans with a Splendid tee and Smythe Jacket. City Cycle Style will be a 24-hour outdoor gallery on the east side or back entrance of The Royal Exchange from September 28th to October 29th 2011. The Royal Exchange, EC3V 3LR is located between Cornhill and Threadneedle Street, close to Bank Tube Station.
