Post the news that the USA are rolling back on their $800 USD threshold for goods coming into the USA, we along with all other fashion brands shipping to customers in America had to look at ways we could still service those customers in the most efficient way possible. In a way it forced our hand, as including duties, taxes and tariffs was always going to be the best way forward, because it serves the customer so well, and serving the customer should always remain front of mind for any brand. As I have always said at DONNA IDA, all we do is sell amazing jeans to wonderful women. It is that simple, and keeping things simple is great business practice.
We partner with SWAP, which we originally used just to literally switch out returns for customers who were exchanging sizes, but we have now expanded our work with them to support us and the customer in landing our goods into the USA and all other countries with taxes, duties and tariffs included. We are experts at making great jeans, and they are experts in market positioning, so let the experts in each field be just that. Someone said to me years ago, you can’t be everything to everyone and that really resonated with me. I am really only good at a few things, and I stick to that.
Going forward, this means that when shopping at DONNA IDA, the price you see at the checkout is the total price payable and you will not be liable for any additional costs on delivery. For me this is key to the shopping experience, shopping should be light and easy, without the heaviness of additional duties that were not always expected.
It is our goal to always to make your shopping experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible, please get in tough with me though as I am always so keen to hear your thoughts and I love your ideas and feedback.
