A Guide to the Notting Hill Carnival

Having recently moved over to Shepherds Bush, as well as being a stone’s throw from the office, I am also conveniently close to Notting Hill Carnival so really had no other choice than to rush home from Cornwall on the Bank Holiday Monday (camping with friends) and swing by to catch the closing day.

Obviously, Boris bikes seemed like the best option of transport (how I regret that now). Having joked about getting caught up in the parade – this is exactly what happened shortly after this picture was taken below.

It was my first time to the Carnival – but won’t be my last. The atmosphere was incredible – be it a little intimidating. The music was amazing, with what seemed like a different genre down every street.

We of course didn’t miss the opportunity to try on one of the headdresses on our way home!
