Markus Lupfer The History:

Markus Lupfer is a German born designer, who studied at the University of Westminster and is now based in the UK. Having graduated in 1997 he created his own label, focusing on humorously subversive sequinned luxury knitwear and became a regular at London Fashion Week until 2003 where he was appointed Design Director at Armand Basi in 2006. It was in 2010 when he reintroduced the label to London Fashion Week and the line has continued to grow season-on-season with his famous signature 'Lips' jumper being reinvented each year.

With a huge celebrity following the quirky lips aren’t going anywhere and for SS14 they are reimagined in the pastel Candy Stripe Lara Lips sweater to compliment the pastel shades of the season. His kitsch pieces appeal to A-list celebrity fans including Rhianna, Beyonce, Leighton Meester, Pippa Middleton and Miley Cyrus.

Markus Lupfer SS14 Collection

The SS14 collection includes knitwear pieces to keep you cosy during chilly Spring days, and lighter sparkling jersey sweaters for warmer Summer days. The pre-collection was inspired by music themes and includes jumpers emblazoned with lyrics with  'Love, Love will Tear Us Apart Again' from Joy Division, 'The Music Sounds Better With You' by Stardust and 'Pretty Vacant' by the Sex Pistols. Team the easy-to-wear grey shades highlighted by red sequins of Those Lips or the retro Cassette Tape sweater with IDA Rizzo's and white converse for a relaxed style.

Sparkling sequins bring the quirky and innovative pieces to life with rainbow slogans saying 'I want it all' and the cutest French Bulldog Puppy adorns a delicate jersey, all in shapes that are modern, simple and chic.  The matching cotton Anna Sweatshirt and Meow Print Shorts covered in kittens are super cute and fit into the sports luxe trend for SS14.

We're already looking forward to Markus Lupfer's AW14 styles! The London Fashion Week AW14 collection was inspired by heritage pieces with tartan print shirts, dresses and skirts reminiscent of school days; complete with grey toggle duffel coat. Fuss free tailoring, with clean sharp edges - so chic. Lupfer has created a classic work-wear wardrobe that’s sexy and sophisticated and easy to wear. The floral print adds a botanical gardens aspect, an English rose in a wild overgrown secret garden. To compliment the very English feel, Lupfer themed his preview in the style of a local cafe, where he served chips with ketchup..yes chips and ketchup at London Fashion Week. Who would have thought? Here's a little sneak peak of what's coming in September.
