Constance Wears Mother Denim

Mother Denim’s signature Seventies style is circling the fashion blogger scene and leaving behind a stylish path of obsession. Take Constance for example, once unaware of Mother’s lightweight design and vintage-inspired aesthetic – and now ‘in love’. Just read her Denimology review, you may find yourself falling in love too…

When picking out new styles to review from Donna Ida I was determined to find a really great fitting pair of flared jeans. I was lucky enough to be shown this amazing style 'The Curfew' from Mother Denim, a brand which I was not really familiar with until now. All I can say is WOW. I am in love with this brand after wearing this pair of jeans. They are such wonderful fit and quality and although a little pricier than some of the jeans I have reviewed before I feel there is a reason for this price tag. The quality of these jeans is superb. You can tell just by touching them that they are a luxury and expensive pair of jeans, and this is before even putting them on.

Once I had put these on I didn't really want to take them off again! They are such a great snug fit and are so beautifully tailored they work with your every move. The rise is quite low on these but not in a vulgar or over the top manner, and the smart cut of the leg and flare balances it out.

The flare is the perfect size in my opinion, great for channelling the 70s vibe without going too over the top, and just enough flare to cover the highest of heels or to look grungey with some converse or other flats. These are quite a long leg but are brilliant for heels or if you are long legged. I am 5'7 and they work perfectly for me. They also run very true to size being a size 26inch waist and fitting me perfectly.

The wash 'Moontide' is a great colour, it is a mid blue with slight fading to the legs which adds to the bohemian charm. A great shade of blue for matching with black or white and most colours in fact! They are great for dressing up or down and are super comfortable in a 98% cotton and 2% elastane mix.

The only negative point I can scrape on these is that the fly doesn't seem to stay up too securely! I don't know if this is just a flaw on this particular pair I was trying or whether its a flaw in the whole style but I found I had to keep readjusting the fly every few minutes, something to be aware of if you are buying them!!
