What to Wear to a Festival this Summer

I love the start of the festival season. So as we countdown to a Summer of music, here are my predictions and suggestions for this year’s festival circuit.

Festival Risk Taker

Neon is huge this season and you will be seeing it in every shape and form.  If you’re a risk taker try the Current/Elliott Boyfriend Shorts in Lime Green or Day Glow Pink and team it with a Zoe Karssen tee tied up to show off your toned abs. The J Brand 811 Neons are a great way to work this trend which you can wear with flats and a cute tee from Wildfox.

Festival Power Prints

If you’re a festival fashionista, then you’ll be wearing power prints this season. My absolute favourites are the Rag & Bone Legging in Goetz and the Hudson Tilda in Love Parade and Lucy in the Sky.  The prints are quirky and interesting so dress them down with a Simeon Farrar tee and an oversized knit or jacket; borrow your boyfriend’s, your Dad’s or Grandfather’s - whatever captures the look.

Festival Hippy

If you’re more of a relaxed festival goer try a pair of flares. I love The Mellow Drama in Hummingbird from Mother Denim, worn with a top from French brand Local. A simple colour pop vest from Splendid is all you need. Try wearing a flatform with your flares; it will give you the height you need but still be comfortable and practical for a field.

Festival Girl

If flirty pastels are more your colour palette then the Paige Verdugo leggings are perfect.  There are four amazing colours but I particularly like the Daybreak which is a beautiful lilac tone.  Team them with a contrasting pastel colour on top such as a shirt from Equipment or a grey tee from Zoe Tees.

Festival Accessories

Once you’ve established which look is for you, make sure you over-accessorise. You’ll need stacks of friendship bracelets, glamorous sunglasses, a slouchy bag and of course, a cider in your hand.
