Hilary Alexander at The Telegraph has wriiten an online article about Daisy Duke Denim Styling:
'Hang on to your hot-pants. That sexy songstress, Katy Perry, has clawed her candy-pink nails into the archives of the Deep South, in Georgia, USA, and unearthed summer 2010’s greatest fashion treasure - denim hot-pants. Now, of course, they are called ‘Daisy Dukes’, in a Good ol’ Boy salute to the actress, Catherine Bach, who played the original heroine of the American CBS television series, ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’, which ruled the small screen from 1979 to 1985. Her role was then re-created by Jessica Simpson in the 2005 Hollywood movie of the same name.
The third re-incarnation comes courtesy of Katy Perry who has teamed up with Diesel for the hottest, blinging-est pair of ‘Daisy Dukes’ ever seen and which she wears for the video for her new single, ‘California Gurls’. In the lyrics to the Number One hit single, Perry raves about “jeeps, gin-and-juice, bikini-tops, and daisy-dukes’. On film, she wears a sexy, sheared-off to nothing pair of Diesel denim hot-pants, known as the Mintha 8B3, which were specially customised with Swarovski crystals. The Diesel distressed indigo-blue denim shorts were hand-embroidered with more than 7,000 Swarovski two-tone crystals, specially for Perry the pop princess.
