Jeans for Genes
Jeans for Genes is the national children’s charity which aims to change the world for children and families affected by genetic disorders. This is a cause close to our hearts and Donna Ida Thornton is the charity’s patron.
In 2011, Team Donna Ida raised over £50,000 for Jeans for Genes by taking part in the adidas Women’s 5k Challengehttp://www.donnaida.com/blog/donnas-diary/4127. The Donna Ida Fund supported the support and care services for PCD Family Support Group, Headlines Craniofacial Support, Caring Matters Now, MyasthenicKids, Restricted Growth Association, Hereford Learning Disability Trust, Deafblind Scotland, Cardiac Risk in the Young and Ataxia UK. For further information on how your donations helped, visit the Jeans for Genes website http://www.jeansforgenesgrantprogramme.com/grantsgiven/2011
For 2012 the Donna Ida Fund is committed to supporting Jeans for Genes once again with very worthy causes including Batten Disease Family Association, Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, The Haemophilia Society and Rett UK. Stay tuned for details of our fundraising activity!
You can do your bit for the charity by donating £1 with your next order and by taking part in the annual fundraising event, Jeans for Genes Day http://www.jeansforgenesday.com/ on 5th October 2012, when thousands of people across the country make a donation to wear their jeans to work or school.
