Serfontaine
Belgian born and Cape Town raised Designer Mik Serfontaine is a former boutique owner who created his very first jean, the Easy Rider, at the back of his store in 2000. Within a week, the collection had sold out and was sprayed onto the behinds of young stars such as Britney Spears, who then wore Serfontaine for her world tour. With his unique rope stitching and incredible attention to detail, Mik has managed to stay at the top of one of the most competitive sub-cultures of the fashion industry. As WWD put it 'his passion for denim is extraordinary. This is a guy who's actually been awarded patents on his stitches, fabric washes and designs'.
