DONNA IDA: Where are you from and where did you grow up?

I grew up in the South of France just near Montpellier. I lived in Paris for 12 years and am now based in London!

DONNA IDA: How did you get started in the fashion world?

I’ve sort of always been in the fashion world. My mother had a clothing store in the South of France whilst I was growing up and I used to spend the weekends and school holidays helping out, I loved being around the beautiful clothes. I worked for a few brands including John Galliano and Mexx before settling at Venilia; a French Interior company, but I missed the buzz of the fashion industry so I went on to study Marketing at Institut de la Mode in Paris.

DONNA IDA: What inspired you to start your Vestiaire Collective?

I noticed that people were selling past season products on their blogs during the recession but I was concerned that there wasn’t a trusted online site that would guarantee authenticity and give a fair price for the piece depending on its condition. I searched my friends wardrobes and pulled out anything that they didn’t use that we could sell and along with the other five co-founders we launched Vestiaire Collective from my flat in Paris. Back then we did everything from packing up orders to going to the post office and dealing with enquiries, six years on and we have over 180 employees with offices in five countries it’s been a busy six years!

DONNA IDA: Do you have any iconic Vestiaire finds in your wardrobe?

I spent ages lusting over a Hermes cuff in a specific leather and colour, I searched high and low and couldn't find one anywhere. Then, one day the exact one I’d been looking for popped up on Vestiaire Collective, i've never pressed ‘add to basket’ so quick!

DONNA IDA: Tell us about your recent charity link up Wardrobes for Women? How did you get so many A-list stars involved?
We partnered with Women for Women International and 12 high profile women (Keira Knightley, Diane Kruger, Emma Watson, Lupita Nyong’o, Caroline Issa, Lena Dunham) who all donated pieces from their wardrobe, the pieces were then sold on Vestiaire Collective and proceeds from the sales were given to Women for Women International. It’s such an inspiring charity that all of the women we approached to be involved really wanted to be involved – it wasn’t a hard sell!

DONNA IDA: What are your wardrobe essentials and how do you wear your jeans?

Skinny Jeans are my wardrobe essential throw in an over sized sweater and a pair of Gianvitto Rossi heels and that’s all I need!

DONNA IDA: Why do you think jeans are such an iconic item?

For me denim is the perfect mix between comfort and style and at an accessible price point.

DONNA IDA: Which are your favourite jeans from our shoot and why?

I’m so obsessed with IDA Sadie the Boiler Suit; I honestly can’t stop wearing it!

DONNA IDA: Who is your denim icon?

I love Charlotte Gainsbourg; she makes denim look chic even when paired with a simple white t-shirt.

DONNA IDA: Where in the world are girls best dressed? What kind of style do you admire?

I’ll have to be patriotic and say Parisian women. The French way to mix basic and statement pieces for a low-key but very chic look is one I really love.

DONNA IDA: What’s your favourite restaurant?

Roka on Charlotte Street in London has the most delicious Japanese food. I love the open kitchen where you can see the food being prepared and pick up some tips. It all adds to the experience.

DONNA IDA: Where’s your ultimate holiday destination?

I love to travel anywhere with my family and beloved friends. For Christmas I was in Singapore and Vietnam with family. It was the first time I’d spent Christmas away from home so it was a different kind of Christmas, but just as exciting.

DONNA IDA: What is your favourite fashion magazine?

I love French Vogue, its full of inspiring shoots and interesting features; I always look forward to taking time out and pouring over the new issues.

DONNA IDA: Which beauty products do you swear by?

Products from Joelle Ciocco are my favourite - I can’t recommend them enough. Joelle is a French Epidemiologist and her products are fantastic they leave your skin feeling so healthy. You can buy the products in the UK from ohmycream.com – which is a site I’m also obsessed with!

DONNA IDA: What advice would you give to a younger you?

Trust yourself; don’t be afraid to follow your dreams and your intuition. Self-confidence is key if you want to accomplish big things - it’s not natural for women to trust themselves, you have to fight with yourself to have confidence.

DONNA IDA: What’s next?

So many exciting new projects are on the horizon for 2016! We’re introducing Vestiaire Collective to new countries and I will be growing my dream team. Having the chance to meet inspiring people every week is something I really love. I feel blessed to be where I am with a wonderful family and such an exciting job. This year I will continue to thrive!
