Lisa lives and breathes fashion with her finger on the pulse working in the heart of London; she’s trend savvy, cool and stylish. DONNA IDA: What fashion trends from 2016 are staying for 2017? What can we send to charity shop/re-sell/store and what will we keep wearing?
Sleeves are taking on a life of their own at the moment so hold on to any exaggerated, blown-out shapes for SS17. DKNY also did major dangly ones, which I particularly love because it means I never have to remember my gloves. I’m also happy the PJ trend continues with robe-like billowy jackets and relaxed trousers. I adored all of Lanvin’s stripy numbers - way too good to be confined to the bedroom.
Speaking of sleepwear, those duvet-style quilted jackets will need to go into storage once spring lands (please?). And then they can be recycled for ski seasons and hangover days.

DONNA IDA: What denim trends are you seeing coming through for SS17?
Distressed details, released hems, and frayed edges on denim are bigger than ever next season - the customisation trend is just going to keep exploding. I’m also seeing denim skirts or shorts layered over jeans, which is a bit of a niche trend that I’ve only seen Gigi Hadid pulling off so far…
DONNA IDA: How important is customisation and distressing for jeans?
I'm o-b-s-e-s-s-e-d with customisation at the moment. I've even started scanning jean rails from the bottom up to see if they have a distressed hem! It's all about injecting some individuality into your denim to make it work for you, whether that's snipping a hem to flatter your legs, or adding motif badges Gucci-style for a talking point.
DONNA IDA: How should we be wearing jeans for 2017? What shall we style them with?
If you tend to go with straight or skinny jeans, try wearing a top or sweater with mahoosive bell shape sleeves to add some interest and ramp up a casual look. Ellery is absolutely killing it with the statement silhouettes.
If you do more of a slouchy boyfriend or flared shape, experiment with next season’s bralettes, a la Victoria Beckham SS17 (midriffs, optional). Just throw a white or grey tee underneath and your nod to the Nineties is sorted.

DONNA IDA: What are your favourite jeans from the shoot?
I didn’t want to take off the IDA Jeanie jeans, which were customised with one generous shred up each inner ankle. I wouldn't necessarily pick up a flare or bootcut style but the customisation a) looked like the jeans had been made for my legs. b) made my pins look a gazillion times longer because the hems practically kiss the floor. And c) I’m obsessed.

DONNA IDA: What are your top three stylist tips for the perfect wardrobe?
My styling mantra:
1. Plan your outfit from the shoe up. If you’ll be running around, the jeans/trousers/skirt you wear will need to work with flats or low heels. If it’s an Uber kinda day, you can get away with a look that demands an indecently high heel (aka my favourite).
2. Don’t always go by size. My wardrobe literally ranges from a size 6-16 because I like to play around with proportions a lot. For example, I love wearing an oversize borrowed-from-boyfriend denim jacket to pare down a silk slip dress.
3. Find your go-to statement lipstick. A bold bright or uber-dark mouth can take your outfit to a whole other level. I'm all over Tom Ford’s Dark and Stormy at the moment for a gothica lip.
DONNA IDA: As a fashion girl - what do you do when you have nothing to wear?
Anyone who knows me well gives me a funny look when I say I have nothing to wear! But if I am having one of those days (who doesn’t) I throw on my failsafe, monochrome to cheat feeling put-together. Usually black skinnies, a white Vince tee or sweater, black leather biker jacket, and a pile-on of gold trinket-y jewellery and I’m out of the door(ish).

DONNA IDA: What pieces are you coveting for new season?
Next season I'm coveting some Lanvin-esque stripy floatiness, more silly sleeves, and basically anything multi-buckled (thanks, Carven). I’m also on the lookout for a fresh new denim shape to give my skinnies a break - IDA’s Pimp My Margot Culotte with raw released hem has spring written all over them. I used to wear a trend top-to-toe but now it’s more about what works with my current wardrobe.
