What to Wear on Bonfire Night

We’ve seen a dramatic drop in temperatures in the last week so it’s time to wrap up and think about layers.  I’ve been a fan of a shiny puffa for a few years so I was particularly excited that we would be stocking Duvetica for AW12.  Their jackets are so warm, cosy and chic.  We stock them in four colours and I would be happy with any of them. These are a great investment piece as they will last for years and you can wear them skiing as long as you’re not a beginner.

Underneath I would start with clever layering.  I never thought I would see the day that I looked to my Dad for inspiration but he’s been layering polo necks for years on the golf course and I now love polo necks.   They look great under everything from cashmere knits to a blazer or coat so try layering an Elizabeth & James Kamilla top underneath a chunky knit from American Retro, I love prints this season and the Sarah knit is my current favourite or the Aztec knit in Ecru.

The Twiggy has been a long standing favourite with Donna Ida girls and this season is no different.  They are the perfect mid-rise, make every bottom look impossibly perky and are the perfect length for us mere mortals.  Add a dash of colour with this season’s merlot shade, the James Jeans' Sienna Slate is a beautiful wash so even if you opt for black or grey on top or your feet this will brighten up your whole look.
